Being single as a woman can be brought about by many factors in life such as becoming a widow or losing a husband, or simply choosing to remain single. This is how a Christian woman lives her life and unfortunately, it comes with a lot of hurtful words and other people looking down on how. The fact that one is alone and on her own, can create feelings of loneliness. Problems and difficulties are things that are constant in life and are being faced on a daily basis; the test of strength for an individual is on how she chooses to live with this and deal with it. With all the daily problems there is also the consideration that we should all live as Christ has, and this means a life of selfless love, cleanliness and purity.
Being single gives a woman the opportunity to focus on other aspects of life, and one of which is serving the church. In the church though, a single woman faces a stigma.There is just no helping this, simply because it's a natural human feeling, reaction or perception that can be hard to control. A woman is expected to act just as what a woman should - she should always mind what she does, how she clothes herself or how she behaves when in the company of other people. Even the way she speaks is expected to be in a manner that resounds respect and dignity. Jewels may be precious as they embrace the neck but there is nothing more precious than a good reputation. Fortunately today, churches are open for groups of singles who wish to attend fellowships and Sunday school inspirations. It is said that the success of the fellowship falls greatly on how effective the leader is in doing the Singles Ministry. Finding a good leader is not an easy thing to do, especially in the times today; he simply doesn't have to know of God but should also fit the other requirements of the single ministry. In this case, the ideal leader to guide the group is said to be an older couple who have been married for a long time.
A woman of Christ is strong and can stand alone in His church and keep on living a godly life. Dating men and just being close with married men are things that do not cross her mind, as she holds a higher value to her reputation as a Christian Singles woman.
